Preparing for class...

I've decided on my format for the new class over at Shimelle's and have distressed an old Collins filofax folder to use as the cover of my mini book!
I'm happy with the way it looks and am looking forward to class starting!

Following prompts...

In my excitement to start Shimelle's new class I've been looking over some prompts from a previous class I took at the end of last year. When I did Blogging for Scrapbookers originally, I only used the blogging aspects of the prompts. I always intended to go back and do the scrapping prompts too, so thought I'd start while I wait for the new class!
This prompt was all about hidden meaning in posts or hidden journalling on a page. I decided to maximise space so added extra photos too!!!

I'm really quite happy with it :0) I've pretty much used up last month's kit too so thats even better.

Feeling good!

Well, its unheard of: feeling perky on a Monday morning - when there is work involved!! Yep, I was up early today and I'm on my second cup of coffee so I'm feeling quite awake.
I'm so lucky with the job I have (although I do moan about it at times, but thats just natural). My plan for today was up early (check!), walk to the train station (Yuk! After getting washed and dressed of course!!!), get to work.
After cup of coffee number one I realised that number two on the list was never going to happen! Although its a sunny day outside and I had plenty of time to make the train, I thought to myself : I don't want to walk all that way, I don't want to rush
So I've decided to catch the bus :0) To many that doesn't seem like much of a deviation from the original plan. HOWEVER! The bus stop is much closer to home and the bus leaves alot later, sooooooo it means I'm sat here with a second cuppa (which never happens!) and time to blog (which never ever ever happens)
So, all in all, I'm feeling lucky today!! Hope the feeling continues!!

Celebrating blogging!

As you can tell from my previous post- I was feeling a little low in scrapping terms!
I spent ages stood at my craft desk this morning looking at paper and old photos (I'm on a mission to scrap my childhood memories!!) and felt TOTALLY uninspired!
So I pulled out my folder and flipped through pages if sketches and class prompts until I ended up at the first prompt from Shimelle's Blogging for Scrapbookers course. When I did this class originally I only blogged, I didn't do any scrapping at all. Aha! I thought, I know what I'll do...

And thus a page was created :0)
It honours the fact that I love my blog (something I have neglected lately) as it allows me to honour the little (and big) things in my life and to share them with blog friends!

Hope you like it

Having a moment with kits again!!

I'm having trouble with my subscribed kits again. I LOVE what comes with them, but I al always SOOOOO strict with myself and refuse to add anything to the kit until I feel I have got as many pages as possible from it and then I just file the rest.
The trouble with this is I feel at the moment I am ending with pages that, although they are pretty and nice, are not quite as good as they could be. I always think: oh if only I could have added that embellishment, that letter sticker, that bit of bling etc.
This is SOOOOOOO silly! There are no rules (other than my own) to stop me using the kit but just adding to it too. I know some people just unpack the kits into their usual stash as soon as they arrive and don't use the pieces together necessarily.
Not sure why I am ranting about this here! I guess I just hope for some encouragement from my blogging friends that it is OK to add to kits! (Feels like a therapy session!!!!)

What a glorious day!!

I've spent a lovely day looking through all my old childhood photos. I had a lot of laughs, and a few sniffles too. The result - a  nice top up to my tan (bonus!!) and LOTS of photos to scrap from the olde days!!
Here are a couple I did today. I used the July Scrapagogo kit for these as the retro feel to the papers (especially the Sassafrass) were ideal:
These photos are of me an my nan in 1983!! WoW!!

I reckon these photos were taken in 1981 but I need to confirm that with my mom. I LOVE the dress I am wearing!!

Home again

Well, all too soon my time by the sea is over :0(
We didn't stay for a full week (much to my disgust!!) as my OH had a golf competition to get back to (female wrath duly noted on that one!!!!)
Still I feel nice and rejuvenated and perky that I have two more days off work.
Feeling very lost in a Crafty sense and haven't scrapped properly for ages. Having to work extra weekends and meetings have meant I've missed the Bromsgrove crop alot and I'm gutted about that :0( I'm going to make sure I get there soon though as I've missed being around other scrappy people!! I think part of my problem is that all the photos I want to scrap still need to ge printed. I'm going to do a big photo order tonight but until they arrive I've spent a few hours going through the old albums and have lots of childhood photos to scrap. I'm going to use the originals (oh the horror!!!) simply because they are poorly stored at present and are slowly becoming damaged. I feel they have more chance of survival on one of my pages!
So be warned- Lots of 70's and 80's pages to come ;0)

Until then here's a photo I hope to scrap from my hols:
