My house looks like this...

Work on the extension is almost complete. Mom moves in furniture over this weekend and then she should be living in there from Monday.
Currently me, K, and mom are squished in teeny bungalow with all of our furniture.
I cant wait to have my own home again...and my mom safe and happy 'next door'.

So I won't be blogging until this is all sorted. Then my life (which has been on hold for a few years) can start to blossom again. Yay!

See you soon

Last challenge from the crop!

Challenge 16 was to use your scraps that were left over from the crop weekend! As I haven't touched my craft space since last weekend (oh the shame!), this was easy for me!
Another Scotland photo! This is a page I could keep adding bits to! That's the beauty of using scraps I guess!!

One more challenge from Shimelle's Online Crop...

I thought I'd submit to page for Shimelle's crop as I started it last weekend but didn't finish it.
Challenge 12 was to scrap one photo twice.
I didnt realise Kei was snapping this photo of me and I love it!!

A Moment of Epiphany

It's my day off, and I have read the next session of My Quest this morning. It is session 8 and is focussed on LIMINALITY...moments of transition, of nothingness and yet totality.
I have been sat here with Saffy on my lap doing NOTHING. Intentionally waiting but not knowing what it is I'm waiting for. I realised that cats do this a lot. They sit, completely aware of everything going on around them, waiting... waiting for the next thing to occur.
From this my mind wandered to my photos as I suddenly was so happy with the clarity of thought I had just had that I wanted to take a photo! I realised that I take photos when I have had a moment of clarity, or am experiencing a moment of joy. I take photos to document a deep thought or story. And then...what do I do with the photos? I scrapbook them. But generally by the time I scrapbook them the TRUE story behind the picture, the clarity, the joy, is lost or diluted. Forgotten.

This photo I took quickly on my phone after the really deep, meaningful thoughts i have had today...when I scrapbook it...it will probably be about how I love to curl up with my kitty! All depth, all clarity will be lost. UNLESS I REMEMBER! So I have decided that when I DO have moments like this, when I DO take a photo that represents some moment of deep reflection, that I will blog. I will add the photo, I will write about my moment of clarity, joy, sorrow even, and I will tag it I will scrapbook this . Then when I do scrapbook that photo, it will be to tell a story that is much deeper, much more honest, and frankly much more interesting and worthy of remembering in years to come!

Challenge 11

This challenge is to use two contrasting patterns one using 1/3 of the page and the other using 2/3 of the page.
Here is my page:

Challenge 10

This challenge was to have a bold page and I think I succeeded!!! Click here to go to Shimelle's to see the challenge itself.
I've included hidden journaling on this page. It's on the index card you can see peeping above the photos.

Challenge 9

This challenge was to rework an old challenge!! Soooooo many to choose from. At first I decided to do an old Glitter Girl challenge and use raw chipboard. I started and then freaked out when my first attempt and covering it went so wrong!!! There's a challenge and there's scary scary stuff!!! So I decided to go to 6x4 Photo Love and scrap 2 photos. If you've seen my challenge pages you'll notice I never scrap portrait pics, so I did that! And guess what... I ended up using chipboard too so I succeeded at TWO challenges! Go me!

Sorry about the annoying shadows on these pics again :0(

Challenge 8

You can see this challenge by clicking here.. This challenge was to use a stamp you should use more often. I rarely stamp even though I have lots! So I had lots to choose from!!

Challenge 7

This challenge (which you can see by clicking here.) was to use a pocket or envelope on your page.
I used an envelope tucked behind the photos to put memorabilia from our gondola ride up the Nevis Range in Scotland.

Challenge 6

Challenge six was set by a guest over at Shimelle's. Click here to head over and see it in full..
Basically it was to take a page and drastically alter it as you take inspiration from it.
Click here to see the beautiful page I scrap lifted from.

The page was digi, mine paper. That's a fairly drastic difference right?!

Challenge 5

This challenge was to scrap lift a page by Wilna which you can see by clicking here!
I'm not very happy with this page. I'm going out in a bit and i wanted to finish this so I rushed it and i think it shows.
I'll be saying goodnight to the crop now and will join everyone again tomorrow!

Challenge 4

Challenge four which you can see by clicking here was to use Yellow, Grey and one other colour.
Now I know the yellow here isn't a bright yellow but it IS yellow! And I've alread used bright yellow once today...and I hate yellow...so this is ok for the challenge...right?!?

Challenge 3

Challenge 3 can be seen by clicking here and is about using a new style.
I read Karen's blog daily and she showcases her Scrapbooking once a week. Her style is very different from mine- lots of white card stock, small multiple photos, minimal (if any) patterned paper. I challenged myself to try her style Click here to pop over to her blog for a look at her lovely art!
I used white card stock (which I NEVER use- odd to say but white card stock as opposed to cream which is use a lot, fills me with fear!!!) and only a border of patterned paper. In the end I had to add a little pattern so punched some butterflies to add a but of ME to the page.
It certainly is NOt my normal style. I like the page but don't think it works as well as I'd hoped. Ah well, that's what challenges are for!!

Sorry about the poor light quality on this picture! The sun has moved round in my crafty room windo now :0(

Challenge 2

Click here to look at Challenge 2 which is to use 3 or more paper collections on one page!

On this page I used American crafts card stock, the background paper is "Majesty" by Authentique, the pink wood grain is "Curtains" by Crate, the green chevron is "Magnificence" by Authentique, the aqua graph paper is "Memorandum Office Blue" by Lily Bee, the measuring tape paper is "Lost and Found 2" by My Mind's Eye.
Really really happy with this page. I NEVER use yellow on a layout either, so that's a first for me!!

Challenge One

The first challenge was to scraplift from a layout by Jaime Warren.
I have used the following elements from her page:
Colour combination
Design placement
Single photo

Really enjoyed this page and the placement is not how I would usually work... But I will do similar again as I LOVE it!

Are you going to the crop?

I popped in to the Online crop party over at Shimelle's last night to have a look around and get my stash prepared for Challenge One!
I've just had a late breakfast, cleaned the house (well, I swept!!) and I'm ready to scrapbook!
Let me know in the comments if you are joining in too and I'll come over and say hi!

My office!

I FINALLY feel like I am getting somewhere with my office at my new job. The previous manager had no organisational skills at all and the place was a tip! Boxes and papers everywhere! All out of date and dusty! He kept the blinds closed permanently and it felt cave like!
I've tidied up, thrown out 3 black bags and 3 paper recycling sacks and dusted!
I think it's looking a lot better and I feel that it's mine now! I just hope I get to stay in the job permanently. At the moment it is a secondment for 3 months, but I WANT this job!!!
I sadly didn't take any before pics (silly lady!) but this is my office today a 6pm :0)

Here is a photo of the front of the building. It's a lot larger than this photo shows and is a library that needs a lot of love! I know I can turn the place around if I get chance a make a real success of it. Fingers crossed!!

I love bank holidays!

It feels like Sunday night, but it's already Monday!
Return to the new job tomorrow and start week 2... Let's hope it less stressful (but somehow I doubt it!!!)
Here are a few pics from my weekend:

Sketching...

Saffy ...

I enjoyed a bit of scrapping ( the first in weeks) and here is one page:

The extension as it is from the garden... Exciting!

We moved mom's lamp from her (soon our) living room and into her new one. When I say we, I mean the builders and electrician :0)

I hope you had a great bank hols? Leave a link in the comments if you've blogged yours too and I'll pop, over to say hi!
