Preparing for the demolition!

Finally, finally we are ready for work to begin on our extension!
The builders are arriving at 7.30 tomorrow morning and will be with us all week.  The plan for the week is to demolish all of the out buildings and dig the foundations.  But before this can happen we had to finish emptying the out buildings and poor Kei had to remove the asbestos panels from the roof!
First moving the tumble drier and freezer into the kitchen:

Next the removal of the roof and giving away the old coal bunker:

I'm at work until 7pm tomorrow. I imagine by the time I get home at 7.45 all this will be gone! End of an era and the start of a whole new one :0)

What a wonderful day!

I've had a fantastic Samhain today (apart from still suffering with my throat). I dressed all festively (even though I was staying at home) in black leggings, denim skirt (not festive I know, but comfy!!!) and a cobweb top :0)
I completely reorganised my craft room (which I hadn't planned but was wonderful to do as it just didn't feel 'right' in there. Then I set to catching up with my projects - which I did (yay me!!!! Photos to follow in another post later today)
Next I carved the pumpkin and as the sun set lit candles.
Then I couldn't resist a few pics!!

Favourite day...

A while ago Shimelle asked us what our favourite day of the year was and to blog about it. Rather than blogging about my favourite day of the year though, I thought I'd blog about my favourite day of the week!
TUESDAYS!!! I LOVE TUESDAYS!!
Tuesdays are my day off! Although I actually work full time (well 37 hours a week), the way I work my hours (with a 10 hour day and every other Saturday - sob!) means I get every Tuesday off - YAY!! My lovely man is at work on Tuesdays so it is MY day, to spend how I want, and I love it!
I generally do the boring stuff as quickly as I can so I can spend as many hours as possible in my Craft shed.
Its such a simple day of nothing particularly special going on, but it really helps me to ground myself, and soak myself with things that I love.
This Tuesday I spent many hours trying to learn how to hold a golf club and hit a golf ball (hmmmm, more practice required, and while I can see this could be fun, it will not be my number one love!!!!) I also spent lots of time snapping away in the garden and learning how to deliberately over and under expose, and doing some catch up scrapping. Bliss!

A little love note

Ahhhhhh, I'm feeling all fuzzy and loved up after making some Valentine's things for us yesterday.  I've been at work all day but wanted to continue on the same theme. I'm sleepy though so have decided to turn to digi for the evening and have a play with some things I've downloaded.
The Love Notes template I have used below can be found on Daily Digi here

I altered the colour scheme a teeny bit to suit Kei more. I love this cute little template and the fact it is split into lots of layers so you can really alter it for each little love note.  I think I may make a few of these and print them on matt paper, chop them out and make them into a tag book. >bing< thats a good idea!!! I know what Iim doing tomorrow morning now!! I'll post the resulting project once its complete!

Happy Feet...

I was feeling really low when I woke up this morning. I still have a cold and I am just fed up of coughing! I had a lovely warm shower and used loads of Lush products so I smelled positively edible (I love Lush!!!!)
The I decided to dress in clothes that would make me smile!! I have some silly ladies-boxer style undies on (no photo to follow though!!!) that have cartoon clouds all over them. I have my fav silly t shirt but the all time smile inducer was the socks (given to me by a friend for Crimbo):

I managed to make another snow layout this afternoon - its been a day for honouring my feet really!!!

I would like to honour my past more

One thing I love about scrapbooking is the way you are honouring who you are and where you are in your life. At the moment I haven't started the HUGE project of going through our old family photos, scanning them into the PC and starting to even consider scrapping any of them. It is something I really really want to do though.  I plan to get the oldest ones done first.  It'll be a nice mother-daughter bonding experience to sit with my mom and ask her details about photos like this from when she was a little girl:

(My mom is the moody girl hugging her knees at the front!! I wonder if she can remember why she looks so serious, because my mom is never serious in photographs!!)

Sing a little song for me

Music has always been a huge part of my life. I spent most of my childhood learning and playing the piano and am a little disgusted at myself that I haven't kept that up. I do have a piano at home, so maybe that is something I should rectify.
There are so many pieces of music, songs, poems etc that I find inspiring. It would be too difficult to pick one as my very favourite.
At the moment there are some words from a Hinder song that really stay put in my head:
Go for it, run toward it,
Dive in head first
Live life with no regrets...
This is something I tend NOT to do. I'm not very spontaneous.  I tend to think things over far too much or often just opt for not doing something for an easier life.  I'm starting to think that this is really quite silly.  I'm not condoning spontaneity to a reckless degree, but I do think I need to enjoy life far more than I do at the moment! Maybe this should be my new years resolution ;0)

Just a normal day...or is it?!?!?!

Its my day off today and I thought I'd take a few shots of my daily routine as a tip from Shimelle's Year of Blogging.  I had a lovely lie in and then struggled out of bed, opened the curtains - to find my world had turned white!!! A thick blanket of lovely luscious snow lay over everything and I must admit I over-reacted just a wee bit - running through the house shrieking (and frightening the deeply asleep Saffron!!)
I did contain my excitment enough to snap a few 'routine' shots:

including one of a very disgruntled Saffy:

And then I headed out into the garden to play with my new camera!!

My poor little Craft retreat (nestled at the bottom of the garden) is all frozen :0(

I'm hoping for another snow day tomorrow!! Hopefully it will keep us home from work and we can make Snow Maidens!!!

Back to normality...

Well, its Monday morning and here I am at work.  Everything is back to normal (well except for the sorry looking Christmas decorations in piles waiting to go up into the lofts here and at home!!)
Its been a lovely holiday - especially as I have had such a long break from work, but it really is good to get back to routines!!!
I've really missed the people I see when I am at work and am looking forward to catching up with the ones that really count!

I will scrapbook this...

A really useful idea from my blogging class is to create this tag, so that when I am a busy bee, I can upload photos, a sketch, journaling ideas etc and then scrap at a later date but still keep my thoughts and words current.
I'm a bust bee at the moment BUT I am doing a lot of scrapping because of the JyC course - YAY!!!
I still wanted to create this tag however, as I feel I will use it alot in the future!
