BY 2010

This is the second month of BY2010.  Kate over at Liberty Cottage who came up with the idea. This month's BY2010 has been hosted by K over at K's Crafty Corner.
This was the sketch that K gave us:

I actually followed the sketch to the letter this time, which is unusual for me. I normally go a little crazy with one. But I just loved everything about this one! Anywhere, here's what I did with it:

Night-time scrapping?????

I hate not finding time to scrap when I have been at work all day. By the time I have cooked, eaten, washed up etc Its fairly late and I don't tend to start scrapping as a) the light isn't great and b) I know that if I start I am unlikely to ever stop and then will never go to bed!!
I started digi scrapping briefly. This meant I could scrap at nights and easily stop mid-layout. Trouble is, it just doesn't 'do it' for me. Does anyone know what I mean??
So, has anyone got any advice? Shall I just put up with longing but not scrapping at night?? This would leave my weekends (Well, Sundays every other week as I have to work) and my blissful, wonderful Tuesdays.
WHAT can I do to feel scrappy without getting too involved and also without getting lost staring at the laptop for hours.
Heeeeeellllllppppp!!! I want to use my new found mojo as much as possible!!!!

Old Skool Stash

I joined in with Kate's Old Skool Stash Blog Hop again this month. I used some papers that were in a quick kit that I bought ages ago. I haven't used them as, frankly, I think they are very boring compared to the pretty papers you can buy today. They are also very very thin and didn't feel very nice.
HOWEVER, a lovely photo, a few very old embellishments and an open mind can work wonders!! Here is my page:
I hope you like it! Pop over to Furry Pig's Blog to see the next page in the hop.

If anyone gets lost, here is the full list of blogs in the hop, in the correct order!!
***my blog!***

Enjoy the hop!!

This is what I made today...does it need more though???

I really really enjoyed ripping, scrunching and generally 'wrecking' the papers to get that fab distressed look I am loving on my pages at the moment!! I think I could use a few more of the book page flowers on the page though. What do people think??? Please leave a comment and let me know! Thanks!

I won!

I'm really really pleased to have won another one of Kate's GREAT template's over at Liberty Cottage!
This is the template I have won:
I can't wait to have a a play with it and post the results! Thanks for the opportunity Kate!

Found - one scrapper's mojo - Hoorah!!!

I've been a busy little creative bee today and am feeling very cheerful about it!! Here are a selection of the things I have created today:
Go Go Yearbook cover
Scrap Weekly Page - create a page with 'white' space :

A page from my GoGo January kit:
I originally started this page for Scrap Weekly, but as I added to it the white space kind of dwindled really, hence creating the page above for that challenge instead!!

Love in a coffee cup - 'Latte Love' mini book:
This is the project I started for valentine's day, but it had to go on hold as I didn't have a coffee cup!!!! We popped for a Costa the other day and I saved the cup and could finish the project. I LOVE it and will be popping back to The Little Light Studio to buy more goodies in the future. They have a non-valentined version of this I may try:

Sorry for the photo heavy post. I'm just so happy to have found my spark again!!

Simple Things...

This month's prompt is up over on It's a Creative World. This month its TIME! I can't wait to get started on this as I have had lots of thoughts about it already!
In was really pleased when I read through the post as they have mentioned my project on there and even put some photos and a link to here! I'm really proud!! You can see it (and all the lovely things the DT have created over there) by clicking here!

Scrapper's Block is finally over!!

I have been suffering from serious creative block the past week and it has been driving me completely CRAZY!!!!
Does anyone else suffer from this at all or is it just me?! I'm not sure what brought it on. I had received two yummy kits through the post and should have been scrap-tastic (to use a Keiron phrase for what I do!!!!)
But instead I have done nothing but look inside the yummy kit boxes all week and create...nothing. Sob, wail, moan!!!
But today I (finally) created my January Go Go Yearbook pages. I don't think they are fantastic, but I am happy enough with them, and it seems my block has gone a little now as I have continued with a project I started for Valentine's Day but just never finished!!(More on that tomorrow) for now, here are the january pages - hope you like them!

Pleeeeeeease don't make me get up - it is Saturday after all!

Yearbook advice please anyone????

I need some inspiration - I am doing Document 2010 and am recording a self portrait each month and 12 mini photos taken that month too. I really really want to make my Go Go Yearbook completely different and have a complete block of inspiration about what I could focus it around! I quite like the idea of books I'm reading, but am wondering whether a photo of a book cover each month would be a bit boring. Then I pondered doing Things I love this month...but wondered if that was incredibly shallow and materialistic (to focus purely on things!!!)
Any advice very very gratefully received!! I have a beautiful kit box of goodies just waiting to make a page with!!

Curly Locks

I slept with rags in my hair last night in an attempt to develop curls. It worked!!!! I love it!!

I'm a Go-Go girl!

I was sooooooo excited when I arrived home from work yesterday. My scrapagogo subscription kit had arrived (belated from January but NO fault of the Go-Go Team who have been great at sorting it all out for me! Thanks ladies).
Now Saffy LOVES it when I receive any scrapping supplies through the post - seriously, I don't know what it is about it but she just rubs her cheek pads on the boxes, tries to open them, just totally loves them!
I snapped some photos of her showing her love to the new Go Go box! Cute (if somewhat annoying as I want to play with the box now!!!!)

Valentines cards...

The challenge over at Scrap Weekly this week was to make a card.  I've never been much of a card maker but I had already downloaded some amazing printables from over at the daily digi files.
I made these cute cards and envelope boxes for us. Kei just has to fill in mine.  It may seem a bit sad making your own valentine's card, but I want to put these as journalling cards on a layout at a latter date!

A little love note

Ahhhhhh, I'm feeling all fuzzy and loved up after making some Valentine's things for us yesterday.  I've been at work all day but wanted to continue on the same theme. I'm sleepy though so have decided to turn to digi for the evening and have a play with some things I've downloaded.
The Love Notes template I have used below can be found on Daily Digi here

I altered the colour scheme a teeny bit to suit Kei more. I love this cute little template and the fact it is split into lots of layers so you can really alter it for each little love note.  I think I may make a few of these and print them on matt paper, chop them out and make them into a tag book. >bing< thats a good idea!!! I know what Iim doing tomorrow morning now!! I'll post the resulting project once its complete!

You've just got to love a digital quick page once in a while!!

I spotted a link to Shimelle's latest digi offering over at Two Peas today so hopped over there to pick one up for myself.  This week she has a 99c digital quick page with a valentines theme.
I don't often like quick pages as they take all the fun out of scrapping to me BUT I love Shimelle's style and as this was a bit of a lurve page I thought it would be nice to do one super quick, particularly knowing that the other half will think I've spent ages doing as he knows nothing about he existence of quick pages ;0)
You can find the page to buy here.

Cropaganza Fun

Wow! I went to my first crop yesterday and am completely hooked!!! It was AMAZING! It was a special event rather than just a normal crop as we had 3 classes by Morag Cutts who helped us make some lovely things! The crop ran from 11-Midnight. I left at about 22.15 and lots of ladies were stills scrapping like crazy - it was great!!
I'll post some photos of the projects I made there soon. One page was for this months BY2010 so I won't be showing that until the end of the month.  The beautiful mini book Morag guided us through is currently photo free. I'll show it off after next weekend, when Kei is taking me out for a special day (he doens't know this yet, but he is!!!!!)
I don't know why I was worried about my trolley - I think I took the least stuff with me, which is great and means that next time I can take LOADS more!!!
I can't explain how great it was to be in a room full of complete strangers and yet feel so comfortable and happy!! The ladies I spoke to were all lovely and all very, very talented.
Roll on the next crop is all I'll say!!

Feeling fed up!!

I am going to my very first crop this weekend and am soooooo excited!! It isn't actually a crop, its a cropaganza and the ladies are hoping to keep scrapping until midnight!!! Hope we don't all turn into pumpkins and mice then ;0)
Anyway, I have all my bits and bobs packed into a new tote trolley - am hoping I don't look like a dork with my trolley??!!
There are classes to attend and kits to enjoy, and I am having a COMPLETE disaster with my photos!!
I have PSE, I tag people, but I HATE printing my photos!! I hate sitting at the computer and trying to work out how to resize things, and then printing everything off!!
I'm just in a bad mood as I spent ages doing all of the above and then the printer had a fit and somehow used 2 whole cartridges on a mad moment! Now I have no photos printed for my crop, and no ink, and no time to buy ink before Saturday!!
Moan moan moan, grump grump grump!

52 in 10 Week 5

This weeks prompt over at Dolly's is all about families.  My immediate family is really quite small. I have a partner and we have a furry baby but no children.  I feel all I scrap about at the moment is me, Kei and Saffy, so I wanted to focus outside of our family.  I am an only child so have no siblings, nieces, nephews etc. Then I remembered that a while ago I posted a photo of my mom as a child and tagged it as a "I will scrapbook this" post.  So here is the page:

I decided to have a play with the Liberty Cottage Lithium template I was lucky enough to win last week.  I can't decided whether I like this page or not! It is really different to my normal choice of colours and style that I feel quite uncomfortable looking at it!! I think I will scrap another page that is more 'me' using this fab template so I do it justice!!
The digi elements were from a free kit called "Chocolate Chips". Unfortunately I downloaded it AGES ago before I knew about digi etiquette so I can't refer you to its location on the web or its creator. Sorry :0(

Document 2010 - January

I've had a busy day off today making my January page for the Document 2010 project Shimelle organised on UK Scrappers. I really haven't got to grips with that forum at all. Its just so huge I'm not sure where to start!
Anyway, I also needed to complete my cover so I'll include them all here. I'm really really happy with the result and VERY pleased with myself for keeping up with everything!

Here is the cover:

Here is my January page in full:

The top page has 12 small photos from the month, some journalling for each and an embellishment made using a technique I learned this month (thats something I plan to do each month - learn a new technique and feature it on the page

Each page has a pocket between it and the next for journalling tags and extra photos.

This is why I scrapbook...

This month I have constantly kept this project in the back of my mind as I have worked on all my pages and posts.  Why I actually do this thing that I love has been an interesting thing to contemplate!! I decided that it could really be split into 3 reasons (being analytical purely for the point of constructing my mini book!!) - me, us and them! I did a page for each of these reasons with photos and journalling.
As CREATIVITY is one of the main reasons, I decided to follow the format of a folding mini book I saw in Scrapbook Inspirations last year.  I have used this style once before.  This time, like then, I ADORE the outcome, but the creation of the book in itself was a real challenge! Thats another reason I went for this style - scrapbooking is all about me challenging myself - to find time for me, to take something 'simple' like patterned papers and create something unique and beautiful.  I hope you like it...

You can see the cover to this book in more detail here on my blog.
For this post though, here is a quick cover shot to set the scene for LOTS of photos to follow!!
The basis of the book is on folded pages.  I love the tactile feel and bulging look they give the book:

Page one is all about US:

Between the pages there are little pockets for tags to be inserted with extra photos and journalling:

Page 2 is all about meeeeeeee:
And the last page is all about the people (and animals) I care about and why I scrap for them:

I really loved making this book and have something very special to look at now!
